CBE & FRA Regulations

/docs/egypt/complianceEgypt

Orientation for merchants operating under Egyptian financial regulation. This is general guidance to help you plan, not legal advice — confirm specifics with your own compliance counsel.

BINK's own status

BINK holds no licence in Egypt or in any other country, and is not supervised by the Central Bank of Egypt. It is preparing for UK e-money registration; regulated payment services in Egypt will be provided through licensed partners.

Central Bank of Egypt (CBE)

The CBE regulates banking and payment services in Egypt. InstaPay itself is a CBE-operated rail — see InstaPay.

Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA)

The FRA governs non-banking financial activities in Egypt. Depending on your business model (e.g. buy-now-pay-later, insurance-adjacent products), you may have your own FRA obligations. These are scoped to your business, not something BINK covers on your behalf.

Egyptian KYC & KYB

Egypt-region companies provide additional documentation during onboarding (commercial registration, tax card, national ID for beneficial owners) beyond the baseline KYB described in KYB & KYC Review.

Egyptian taxes

Value-added tax and e-invoicing requirements apply to Egyptian businesses independently of BINK. Invoices generated through the API do not automatically satisfy Egyptian e-invoicing/e-receipt submission requirements — confirm with your tax advisor whether a separate submission is needed.

Not legal or tax advice

This page orients you to the regulatory landscape; it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed Egyptian compliance or tax professional.
